We bought our 17th century farmhouse with the intention of producing English wine. We planted 3000 vines in 1985 in the 2 acre vineyard, which was the site of an old cider orchard. In 1994 we retired from our medical careers, built a modern winery and started to produce our own English wine. |

| Denis is a keen gardener, and the beautiful gardens are free for our visitors to walk in. The grounds include a woodland of native trees and a wildflower meadow. We have planted many unusual flowering trees, amongst them Catalpa bignoides, the Indian bean tree, Davidia involucra, the handkerchief tree, and Pawlonia tomentosa, the foxglove tree. The pond and stream are planted with bog plants, water plants and lilies, while a more formal garden with terraces surrounds the house. |

Although our vineyard is fairly small, we are committed to producing quality English wines, and have won many awards. |
